Pervasive Software Inc. Vice President and General Manager Lance Speck has played an integral role in the development and maturity of the company. With more than a decade of experience working with Pervasive Software, Speck has supervised sales teams responsible for marketing, selling, and supporting software through numerous channels. Engaged in verticals such as billing, logistics, and financial services, Lance Speck’s sales teams have also served governments on a local and federal scale. Accountable for close to half the company’s annual revenue, Speck’s teams continually exceed their sales goals.
Lance Speck was recruited from Pervasive to serve as Senior Account Executive for United Devices, Inc. Known today as Univa, United Devices was still a startup company in 2001 and hired him at a time when the Executive Management team was selling the vision of the company to venture capitalists. Lance Speck helped formulate sales strategies and product positioning before returning to Pervasive Software in September 2001.
A graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, Lance Speck earned a degree in government and was a recipient of a scholarship from The Texas Exes, the university’s alumni association. While studying in college, he chose to get a head start on his career and worked as an Inside Sales Representative for Lotus Development Corporation. During that time, Lance Speck created and maintained workflow applications, managed sales leads, and organized information and training for sales assignments. He holds industry memberships with a Salesforce.com user group, Austin Cloud User Group, and The Software & Information Industry Association.
In his personal life, Lance Speck is a father of two boys and enjoys a wide variety of hobbies. A fan of the outdoors, Speck loves to golf; fish; and hunt deer, dove, and duck. He is also a sports enthusiast and enjoys watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and Texas Longhorns.
